Did you know the Lotus Flower's humble beginnings start in the mud?
Strange place for such a beautiful flower to grow, huh?
Most folks start life with a normal childhood like most plants start in fertile soil. But some of us start life with obstacles—like the Lotus—who must endure the mud, fish, and murky water before blooming. From muddy beginnings to thriving survivor.
Well, that's my story too.
Well, that's my story too.
I'm proudly a thriving survivor of abuse, abandonment and adversity. How? By the grace of God and my perpetual renovation to improve—emotionally, spiritually and mentally.
Today, I'm blessed with a hubby of 36 years, two sons with beautiful wives and four active grandsons. (Yep, I'm pretty partial to little boys.) A brood of chickens and a Yorkie-Poo named Moose, the best pup ever. Faith, family, and friends are deeply treasured by me.
I've been co-owner of S & N Paint Contractors, Inc. for the past 28 years and am a former real estate agent and Graduate of Realtor's Institute (GRI). I freelance work as a real estate Transaction Coordinator, writer, and bookkeeper.

Oh, one more thing to know about me.
Since my teens, I have dreamed of being a writer. I see stories everywhere.
Finally, I pulled a book out of my head and "put it to keyboard." In May 2018, my contemporary women's fiction book Divine Connection won third place at the Blue Ridge Mountain Christian Writer's Conference and my short story won second.
