Live Streaming Thoughts, Oh my!

What if your last thought magically posted directly to your Facebook page or your Twitter feed or pinned on Pinterest?

What if your cell phone could flash your thoughts across a ticketing neon sign above your head for everyone to read?

I confess that if my thoughts scrolled above my head like a Times Square sign, I'd be hauled away in a straight jacket.

What about you?

How would you like to share every thought with the world?

Not me. Not for a single minute.

You see, brains can harbor unpleasant thoughts like….
  • Judgmental assumptions on another person's appearance, action or decision
  • Defensive tirades against others
  • Envious rumblings on what others have or what they don't have
  • How-dare-them accusations—to a crazy driver or an entitled elitist or a close-minded relative
  • The infamous why-me-pity-party celebrated with the why-can't-I-catch-a- break attitude

I'm sure there are many more.

We'd prefer to keep these mental rumblings secret like a toxic garbage dump buried inside our ganglia.

But is that really good for us?

After reading the book, Switch on Your Brain by Dr. Caroline Leaf, I understand the importance of thoughts on my life and health.

So it's time to weed out those negative thinking patterns and dump the toxic waste, rewire the circuits with a positive mindset, and grow new neurons and pathways.

Who knows one day technology may advance to the point that our thoughts are instantly public?

Let's find our shovels and begin to weed out the bad and plant the good.

Where do we start?

Paul tells us in Philippians 4:8 (ESV).

"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things."

Those are seeds worth planting and fertilizing into a lush, positive thinking brain!

Have you given much thought to your thoughts? Have you ever successfully rewired from negative to positive? Please share your insight.
